Lanterns make their way across Dumfries in celebration of Burns Night. Make your own and join the crowd!
Starting at Burns Statue and leading down Friars Vennel onto the Whitesands for the birthday cake! Join us live from the streets of Dumfries as we celebrate Burns Night with family and friends. We will be leading a lantern procession onto the Whitesands and at exactly 6.30pm – we will all come together to wish Rabbie a very happy birthday. We are encouraging everybody to be as creative as they can by dressing up in tartan, and to bring a winter picnic with them.

Where can I make lanterns? We will be running lantern making at the Spiegeltent on Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st from 10am until 4pm and will also supply the materials to make the lanterns.
