Join a Totally Wild UK professional forager to learn the art of foraging and to discover the vast range of wild edibles lying all around us!
What to expect
This is a full-day foraging experience lasting 5-6 hours encompassing the rules and ethics around foraging, tips on how to confidently ID different plants, edible, medicinal, and herbal uses for plants, and much more! Guided by your forager, you‘ll explore the area and get to know all of the edible, and not-so-edible plants and fungi growing nearby. This part of the course will take the form of a slow-paced walk with frequent stops to discuss finds from flowers, fruits, fungi, seaweeds and tubers. The species will vary from site to site and whether it’s an inland or coastal walk. You will have an opportunity to taste a range of pre-made wild food tasters from syrups, flavoured salts and alcohol infusions.
After the Walk
Following your foragers’ lead, the group will work together to craft an exciting three course lunch utilising wild and pre-made ingredients.
In the past we’ve created:
Wild Garlic and Dehydrated Mushroom Fresh Rolls Elderflower Eton Mess
Dandelion and Dulse Rice Noodle Salad
Wild Garlic Pesto & Greens Gnocchi
Dandelion Root Crumb,
Meadowsweet Cream & Birch Sap Syrup
Mixed Wild Salad with Aged Sloe & Damson Vinaigrette
What we make is dependent on the season, and what foraged ingredients we use is dependent on the location, but our meals are always deliciously wild. Please make a note of any dietary requirements and medical conditions on your booking form during checkout and we will do our best to accommodate your needs. Please be aware we are unable to cater for severe allergies.
