The Czech Centre and Karel Komárek Family Foundation are pleased to present Czech Republic’s brightest young pianists to the UK audience.
Following a set of individual masterclasses with professors at the Royal Academy of Music (RAM), five Czech pianists - aged between 13 and 18 years and each already captivating audiences with performances far beyond their years - will take stage at the RAM on Saturday 8th November, promising an evening filled with energy, inspiration, and passion for music. Join in to witness the future stars of classical music being born.
PERFORMING PIANISTS:
• Adam Znamirovský (15) https://youtu.be/_RFzCY0WBh4?si=vzczTG1BK_-Nt1L5 Adam began playing the piano spontaneously at the age of four and has been winning national and international competitions since he was seven. He is considered one of the most outstanding talents in his age category in the Czech Republic and has performed, for example, with the Czech Radio Symphony Orchestra at the Dvořák Prague Festival. He is a MenART scholarship holder, studying under Ivo Kahánek. • Jan Schulmeister (18) https://youtu.be/xRW6O5-apgw?si=SdN5encXl8uTlgQz Jan is the youngest continuation of a sixteen-generation family musical tradition. Since the age of seven, he has received prestigious awards and has performed with Czech orchestras under renowned conductors. He collaborates with the Wihan Quartet and performs solo both in the Czech Republic and abroad. He completed the MenART scholarship programmer and has received notable international recognition, including 3rd prize at The Cliburn Junior Competition in Dallas. • Nora Lubbadová (16) https://youtu.be/jXn2EH7Hwkg?si=mrJlsg5AxMH_fiJj Nora is considered one of the greatest young piano talents in the Czech Republic. She performs solo both nationally and internationally and has also performed in Brussels under the auspices of the Karel Komárek Family Foundation. She has attended masterclasses with Daniel Blumenthal and Stephen Kovacevich and became a laureate of the Concertino Praga competition, where she brilliantly performed Grieg’s Piano Concerto. • Magdaléna Kovářová (13) https://youtu.be/pnTY3grIoac?si=1Ggif_pI_9tHKkIk Magdaléna studies piano and is a MenART academy scholarship holder under Ivo Kahánek. She has attended masterclasses with Lukáš Vondráček and in 2024 won 1st prize at the prestigious IRVINE International Music Competition, where she also performed at Carnegie Hall. • Valentýna Ibriqi (13) https://youtu.be/Xq8-V3FlNQI?si=nXUGydUdfrU5Dhjr Valentýna has been playing the piano for four years and has won several competitions nationally and internationally. Her playing is noted for its expression, energy, and musical maturity.
