VAA Art Caf: Creating an Artist Legacy Visual Arts

Join us for an engaging and thought-provoking webinar on "Creating an Artist Legacy" presented by the Visual Artists Association.

As the current Artist in Residence at the Walton Centre in Aintree Hospital, Steve's incredible journey of resilience and creativity has inspired many.
In the face of adversity, Steve has not only created a successful artistic career but has also raised over £30,000 for charities following his wife's illness. Now, he is eager to share his insights and expertise with artists like you, so you can shape your own artistic legacy.
During this webinar, we will delve into the meaning and significance of an artist's legacy. Through thought-provoking discussions, we will guide you in exploring your personal growth as an artist and finding purpose within your creative expression. Key learning outcomes:
1. Gain a deeper understanding of how art can become a powerful tool for positive change in society and discover strategies to build and nurture your unique artist legacy.
2. Tips for Protecting an Artist's Legacy
3. Insights into how other Artists Create a Legacy
This webinar is suitable for artists at all stages of their artistic journey - whether you are an aspiring creative seeking guidance or an established artist looking to redefine your legacy. Steve Randall will generously share his practical tools, experiences, and valuable insights to inspire and empower you to leave a lasting impact through your art.
Panellist:
Steve Randall
I consider myself a naive and intuitive painter. Initially I concentrated on creating tight illustrations of childhood events and memories which looked to document those moments and relationships that forged a community. I take an impressionistic approach to illustration that is evocative and emotional. This is especially true when I focus on difficult subjects such as family members' mental health, my mothers battle with mania and depression as well as the unexplained death of my younger brother when he was only 19. This culminated in my book the Kirkby Chronicles and my first solo exhibition in 2021. Three of the thirty two piece Kirkby collection then went on to adorn the walls of Liverpool’s Walker Gallery as part of the Art of the Terraces exhibition in 2022/23. We had over 52,000 visitors which is still hard for me to process. To see a wider audience connect with the work and realising its universal appeal has allowed me to explore new and potentially unexpected styles and subject matter.
Spaces are limited, so don't miss this opportunity to learn from one of the industry's most respected artists. Register now and secure your spot to unlock your creative potential and pave the way for your own artist legacy!
