Three times winner of Blues Harp Player of the year Errol Linton and his band play eclectic British blues.
Singer, songwriter, harp player and bandleader, Errol carries the legacy of Little Walter, Junior Wells and Sonny Boy Williamson into the twenty first century, moving the genre forward by combining 50’s Chicago blues with gentle Jamaica rhythms. Accompanied by Adam Blake; guitar, Petar Zivkovic; piano, Lance Rose; Double Bass and Kenrick Rowe; drums, his blues is raw and bloody, an urban sound with rural roots. Moving effortlessly from Chicago Shuffle to Kingston Skank without missing a beat, they have gained an unrivalled live reputation on the regular London Blues circuit.‘The Dub version of Howlin’ Wolf’ MOJO Magazine
Errol's first album "Vibing It" secured regular airplay and a session for BBC Radio 2 Paul Jones Blues Show, airplay from Bob Harris, Johnny Walker, and a host of independent radio station Blues shows. He is established as a firm fixture on the UK and European Blues Festival and Club Circuit and has opened shows for Screaming Jay Hawkins, Bo Diddley, Dr John and The Blind Boys of Alabama. In the words of the late John Walters "Errol is as good a Harmonica player as anyone can reasonably hope to become, he is the real Deal".
His latest album “Mama Said” has contributions from noted New Orleans trumpeter Abram Wilson and Serb pianist Petar Zivkovic. The resulting songs range from ‘Stressed Out’ – a blues every Londoner can relate to – to the beautiful acoustic reflections of ‘Roll On Tomorrow’. On these recordings Linton demonstrates how his song writing has matured into a remarkable original vision.
