A Game of Thrones-inspired event with celebs from the show, wolves, props, jousting, a 16ft dragon plus lots more!Fans of the hit HBO Game of Thrones series are in for a treat in 2019 as a festival devoted to the show returns to Kent on Sunday 19th May 2019
Featuring actors from the show including the baddest baddie of all time - The Night King himself (Richard Brake) Grand Maester Pycelle (Julian Glover CBE of Indiana Jones fame) and Syrio Forel (Miltos Yerolemou), next year's offering is also set to include a 6-metre replica of one of the giants from the show, along with Irish Game of Thrones actor, Ian McElhinney. Fans can expect jousting from riders that have featured in the series, medieval re-enactments, medieval village and stalls, wolves (lupines) used in Game of Thrones promos, props, swords and helmets from the series, a 16ft smoke-breathing dragon, archery demonstration and even sword fighting lessons!
Gerald McCarthy, who has organised events such as the Southeast Airshow along with the first Thronefest event which featured Hodor actor, Kristian Nairn, and German actor, Tom Wlaschiha, says fans are in for a treat "As a fan of the show myself it's great to be able to stage something for like-minded fans. Last year we had visitors from the U.S. and all over Europe and more international visitors have already booked for 2019. The stunning wolves were stars of the show last year and they're coming back in 2019, and we're expecting further celebrity announcements in the coming weeks. Lots of people managed to grab selfies last year with our guests which really made their day. We've got TWO Iron Thrones for people to pose on next year, and we've got extra props and activities for 2019. The event promises to give fans a final dose of everything Game of Thrones right in the middle of the last ever season. Once again we're making it family-friendly and there'll be activities including, shield making, free inflatables along with birds of prey and reptiles to keep any little ones happy.
Tickets for the event which takes place at Quex Park in Birchnington, are £18 for adults and £12 for children with other ticket options including early entrance available from:
