NEW COMEDY NIGHT IN GRANTHAM
Funhouse Comedy Clubs are renowned for having exceptionally friendly audiences and a brilliant atmosphere which have led to twice winning Best Midlands Comedy Club awards with leading comedy website Chortle. Previous acts to have played its clubs on their road to fame and fortune include Sarah Millican, Joe Lycett, James Acaster and Rhod Gilbert, who described the clubs as “among the best anywhere in the world.”
Topping the bill is musical stand-up Richard Morton, who has supported Jack Dee, Lee Evans, Jo Brand, Lily Savage and Phill Jupitus on tour as well as having many TV credits to his name. This livewire Geordie comic is full of surprises and frantic energy, bounding around the stage like an overgrown child on a massive sugar rush and then entertaining his audience with his hilarious songs.
Opening the night will be the very funny and relaxed Andy Robinson. Starting his life as a musician he then moved into comedy. Having worked as a warm up artist for TV shows including, ‘Never Mind The Buzzcocks’, ‘Shooting Stars’, ‘Later with Jools Holland’ and ‘Jonathan Ross’, he is also known as comedy legend Jo Brand’s regular support act. He draws everyone into his world and then surprises them with his amusing tales.
Completing the line-up is the engaging and witty Micky Bartlett. Using his boyishly roguish Irish charm, he captivates the crowd with his intelligent dialogue and cheeky throwaway quips.
Compere for the night will be the chatty and energetic Spiky Mike.
