NEW COMEDY NIGHT COMES TO RETFORD
Funhouse Comedy Club, which already runs successful nights at numerous venues across the country, is excited to announce the launch of a brand new comedy night at Ye Old Bell and Spa, Retford on Saturday January 31st
Funhouse clubs are renowned for having exceptionally friendly audiences and a brilliant atmosphere, which have led to twice winning Best Midlands Comedy Club awards with leading comedy website ChortlePrevious acts to have played its clubs on their road to the top include Sarah Millican, Joe Lycett, James Acaster and Rhod Gilbert, who described the clubs as “among the best anywhere in the world.”
Topping the bill is the compelling and frank comedian and writer, Daliso Chaponda who came 3rd in ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and then landed himself his own stand-up comedy show on BBC Radio 4Hailing from Malawi, where his father is a government minister, he started his comedy career in Canada with the much-admired one man show ‘Feed This Black Man’With his ability to talk about anything from politics and religion to romance, he amuses his audiences with his distinctive accent and unique outlook on the world
Opening the night will be Irish comedian and actor Paddy Lennox, a naturally funny man that oozes charmHe has appeared in BBC’s Holby City and in many television commercials across the EUWith his laugh-a-minute gags his gentle Irish lilt belies a mischievous sense of humour, leaving his audience wishing for more
Completing the line-up is the witty and eloquent Ant Dewson, with his musical comedy feast and rhyming riot
Compere for the night will be the warm and welcoming Spiky Mike
