Who we are fundraising for... Since 2016, Christmas for CAMHS has provided special Christmas gifts, goodies, activities and decorations for children and young people who are inpatients in child and adolescent mental health (CAMHS) wards across the UK over the festive period. These young people will be experiencing one of the most challenging times in their lives, and they absolutely deserve to feel special, remembered and included during the holiday season. This year, with your help, we're hoping to give a gift to every single young person who needs a gift who is in inpatient mental health care at Christmas - as well as a special gift, activities, homemade cards, sensory toys and decorations for every ward too.
Last year we were able to send over 1300 individual gifts to young people experiencing a really difficult Christmas as in inpatient, as well as a ward gift, decorations and an advent calendar to 134 CAMHS wards across the UK. With your help, we will be able to do the same this year too.
What is Christmas in July? Christmas in July is a mid-year celebration marked all across the world on 25th July. We can't wait to celebrate it too. It's tough for charities at the moment and Christmas in July ensures that we're able to give gifts, goodies, activities and decorations to young people who have to be in hospital for their mental health over the festive season. We've been told that Christmas is an impossibly difficult time of year to be in hospital but, with enough funds raised, we can make it a little bit more sparkly.
