Eye Bach Choir was founded from local singers and musicians in 1974 by Merlin and Ann Channon who were already well known across East Anglia for their various connections within the world of classical musicAnn was an accomplished musician and Merlin taught music and had worked with many eminent professionals including Benjamin BrittenFrom its humble beginnings the choir quickly gained a reputation for the quality of its performances amongst both audiences and criticsSir Peter Pears C.B.E and Sir Fredrick Ashton O.M, C.H, C.B.E both became Patrons during the Eye Music Festival that took place during the 70's
For half a century Eye Bach Choir has consistently strived to honour its legacy - delivering the high levels of performance from its yesteryears and working with some of the most talented artists the country has to offerThe organist for this performance, Tim Patient, is one of the most gifted of his generation with a long career having played in numerous venues throughout East Anglia and beyond including StPaul's Cathedral, London
The two young soloists for this concert are on the brink of their professional careers and currently sing regularly for the choirs of St Edmundsbury Cathedral in Bury St Edmonds
