About Jozef Kapustka:

Recently coming to the large public attention with his fantastic display of a virtuoso technique and mind blowing, heart stopping and pushing to the extreme limits of human body Prokofiev performances , Jozef Kapustka was born in Poland in 1969 and began his musical studies at the age of 3. Meeting Sviatoslav Richter shortly thereafter has set his vocation eversince. Upon graduating from the New York Juilliard School in 1992 with a straight A record he has completed a Postgraduate Advanced Studies diploma specialising in piano performance at the Royal Academy of Music in London , having worked subsequently with Dmitri Baskirov in Madrid and legendary Vera Gornostaeva in Moscow . He eventually settled down to live in Paris. Very early Kapustka started to appear in some of the world class premises such as New York Alice Tully Hall at the Lincoln Center, Metropolitan Museum, United Nations, Carnegie Hall (magical, amazing experience as seen in The New York Times) and has been featured on Voice of America International and New York classical radio WQXR live radio broadcasts ( one of the most interesting radio programmings on the air-New York Village Voice). Furthermore he has been featured on France Musique, French TV and Europe1 broadcasts. Passionate traveller he has been playing virtually all over the world, having also set a foot in such exotic places like Tahiti, Spitsbergen, Rio de Janeiro favelas or ancient Roman theaters in North Africa (what a talent! a true juke-box! ask the piece,he plays it- Depeche du midi, close to delirious, great interpreter - Figaro, great pianist keen on introspection, obsessed technician - Nurnberger Zeitung, a particularly beautiful concert - Christine Berbudeau for Radio France International ). Kapustka is a winner of numerous prizes and awards, among those 1994 Grand Prix of the Paris International Conservatory. A highly respected American critic and writer,David Dubal (Remembering Horowitz) has once called Kapustka a great pianist who loves his art, leading American authority on Liszt playing Jerome Lowenthal an excellent and very interesting artist , Josef Raieff ( last pupil of Alexander Siloti who on his turn was Liszt student) man with million dollar hands, pianists Gyorgy Sandor and Oxana Yablonskaya respectively true musical talent of an extraordinary potential and a very exciting and fully committed individual . His solo or joint performances are unvariably and unanimously met by public and critical acclaim, as seen recently: ...a high voltage stuntman, inspired and talentuous ; sensational, both monumental and intimist pianist, very few people in the world could attempt to match his dexterity and precision (Piano World Forum),highly entertaining playing 20 minutes Europe,...extraordinary talent- Virginie Lemoine with Olivier Bellamy on France's classical music radio. A pianist-actor for the 2005 edition of Avignon Festival ( Serge Valetti's Huitre et demi dir. Jean Christian Grinevald) he has been nominated for the most prestigious French theater award Moli? 2010 of the best musical play (Diva arcelles, dir.Virginie Lemoine) Mr.Kapustka future projects include a number of engagements in Europe ( Liszt concerto No 2 with Leamington Sinfonia, cond.Jenny Barrie) and South America (Bach concerti with Orquestra de Cordas da Grota,Rio de Janeiro, cond.Marcio Selles).
