The Northern Aldborough Festival welcomes the Lonarc Oboe Trio, featuring three of the finest oboe players in the UK.
The origins of the oboe trio can be found in the after dinner entertainment ('Harmoniemusik') for political and aristocratic circles in late 18th century Vienna. Many distinguished composers of the time including J.C. Bach, Hummel, Dittersdorf and Wenth, wrote music for these 'Harmonies', and it is in this music, by turns elegant, witty and warm, that The Lonarc Oboe Trio excels.
