Michael Flowers is a professional bird watcher and naturalist and is able to share a wealth of expertise with you. You will travel in shared cars, keeping in touch via walkie talkie as Michael points out barn owls, short eared owls, green woodpeckers and other wildlife on the way. At the site, he will tell you the story of how this colony was formed and show you how these beautiful birds interact. Red kites are unusual birds of prey in the way that they all roost together on winter nights. They are also among the most acrobatic birds of prey and it is a delight to watch their swooping aerial displays before they settle down for the night at their communal roost. Don't forget to visit Robert E Fuller's wildlife art gallery afterwards to browse his remarkable paintings of the birds you have just watched. About Michael Flowers: A highly knowledgable naturalist, Michael has been running twice daily birdwatching walks mainly in East Yorkshire since 2004. His classes visit woodland, farmland, estuaries, lakes, reservoirs and coastal habitats to observe the different wildlife in those varied locations. Clients visit 30 venues in a year and may expect to see more than 100 species per 10-week term. Duration: Two and a half hours Level: The course is tailored for all levels of ability but is not suitable for children aged under 13. Please note there is some walking uphill on the way back, for about 100 yards, but it may be possible to organise transport if required. Group size: Places are limited to 12, please book early to avoid disappointment.
