The final concert this season is a full programme of works both familiar and some perhaps less soIt is 150 years ago this year when Maurice Ravel was born; he became a serious influence on the French music sceneHis output wasn’t huge when compared to others, but it is all superbly crafted with emphasis on melodyWe present three of his more well-known works for you this evening
Our contribution to Shostakovich’s celebration year is the beautiful second piano concerto, which he wrote for his very gifted pianist son MaximIt is arguably one of the best piano concertos of its timePlease note that there has been a change of soloist for this concertWe are thrilled that internationally renowned concert pianist Martin Roscoe has agreed to play for usThis will be an unmissable concert!
