This cottage museum was established in Brading in 1974, and was formed from the private doll collection started by the Munday family in 1960. It is acknowledged as being one of the finest and most important collections in Great Britain with over 2000 exhibits on display dating circa 2000 BC to approximately 1945 AD. There are examples of almost every seriously collectable doll together with a number of dolls houses, rocking horses, tin plate toys, trains, bears, soft toys, and many unusual play things.

Our restoration work does not just involve replacement or repair of damaged parts but is designed to blend in with the original materials, be it mohair, cloth, composition or plaster. We are able to reconstruct sleeping glass eye movements for old bisque dolls and repair broken bodies, missing fingers, feet, joints etc in such a way that they are almost identical to the existing materials and teddy eyes, ears, noses, joints, growlers and damaged bodies can all be reconstructed with the materials 'distressed' to match the original appearance. .
