Long Shop Steam Museum Museums
Our Museum is on the original Garrett Works site and covers 200 years of Leiston's amazing social and industrial history. An educational visit to the Long Shop Steam Museum will help pupils to build up a picture of a famous person like Richard Garrett III or Elizabeth Garrett Anderson (KS1); or help pupils to build up a picture of the lives of working people in an industrial town in the Victorian era (KS2/3), and make links between then and now.
We offer guided tours and activity sessions specifically geared for each group and are pleased to discuss ideas with teachers before a visit and evaluate sessions and display pupils work afterwards.
Coach and tour parties always welcome. Advanced bookings advisable.
Group rate on application.
