Derby Industrial Museum is on the site of the world's oldest factories, the Silk Mills built by George Sorocold in 1702 and 1717. Displays tell the story of the industrial heritage and achievement of Derby and its people. There is a special emphasis on the development of Rolls-Royce aero engines and the railway industry.
