Cathedral church and shrone of St Cuthbert from 883 to 995AD. While at Chester-le-Street Aldred added the Saxon Gloss to the Lindisfarne Gospels.
Open: Easter to end of Oct, Monday - Saturday and Bank Holidays 10am - 3.30pm.
Closed Sunday and Thursday mornings and during Services.
Nov - Easter, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday 10am - 12.30pm (Services permitting).
