Summer is a great time to visit Titchwell. Some of the birds which are hard to see well at other times of year are relatively straightforward to see during this period. It is hard to miss the avocets on the fresh marsh and even bearded tits become much easier to see as family groups fly around the reedbed, often giving quite lengthy views from the main path and Island hide.

Young marsh harriers flap clumsily around getting flying lessons from their parents. Particularly exciting this summer has been the successful breeding of bitterns on the reserve. This normally elusive species is being seen on an almost daily basis flying over the reedbed and fishing the reed margins.

This wetland nature reserve is situated on the beautiful north Norfolk coast. A walk from the visitor centre down to the sandy beach takes you past reedbeds and shallow lagoons, each managed specially for birds. In the summer, marsh harriers can be seen hunting over the reeds.

Winter sees the arrival of many birds, such as ducks and geese. The well-stocked shop has a wide range of optical equipment, RSPB gifts, books, souvenirs and outdoor clothing. The three hides and the paths are suitable for those in wheelchairs. There is a servery with covered eating area that sells drinks and snacks. .
