Norfolk Wildlife Centre Zoos
The Centre was originally opened in 1963 by the famous naturalist Philip Wayre OBE and was the first green-field, country park, wildlife collection in the UK.
In November 2000 Philip Wayre sold the Centre to the current owners, Barbara and Stephen Bealey, who had previously been keepers at the park in the 1970's. They now aim to maintain the naturalness of the Centre, whilst improving the animal's environment and visitor's facilities.
Since November new animals have been introduced like the Red Squirrels, Storks and Black Swans, and the size of the herds and flocks has grown such as Fallow Deer and Lesser White Fronted Geese, to improve their breeding potential. Some enclosures have been extended and new displays, like the Pet's Pavilion and reptiles introduced.
