Held at the Chelsea Hospital every year since 1913, the Chelsea Flower Show has become synonymous for excellence in horticultural design and floristry.
Previously Britain's biggest flower show (overtaken by Hampton Court), it is without a doubt the most prestigious flower show in the world, attracting the very best gardeners and horticulturalists from across the globe.Attended each year by the Royal family, the show contains model gardens and nursery exhibits from across Britain and the rest of the world. The event takes place each year in May for five days, and is organised by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS). Attended by more than 150,000 visitors each year, tickets need to be purchased in advance of the show. Extensively covered on British TV, the show has many highlights and awards categories, including Flora, Hogg, Knightian, Lindley, and Greenfell. Special awards are given to the Best Show Garden Award, Best Courtyard Garden Award, Best Chic Garden Award, and Best City Garden Award amongst others.
