Award Winning theatre ensemble Tangled Feet join forces with Next Generation Youth Theatre, Revellers Steel Band, poet Lee Nelson and renowned aerialists Pirates of the Carabina to breathe new life into the redeveloped Hat Factory Arts Centre. Join Rae our chief Hat Factory programmer for a cup of coffee in the café and learn more about what is to come. Bute Street Film Festival The Hat Factory Studio Time: 2pm - 3pm Cost: Free, but you will need to book a ticket. Now in its second year, Bute Street Film Festival will showcase some of the highlights of the competition winners so far ahead of returning to The Hat Factory for their 2020 programme. Age Guidance: 16+ some films may be unsuitable for younger audiences The Mother Monologues: Resisting Austerity HATCH 1 (1st Floor) Time: 3pm - 4pm Cost: Free, but you will need to book a ticket Shemiza Rashid with support from Tamasha Theatre present The Mother Monologues. A work in progress showing a series of monologues which will form their verbatim piece next March in celebration of International Women's Day. The piece has been developed with mothers in the Luton area around themes of austerity, sisterhood, and survival. The performances will be followed by an open workshop on the piece and its themes where audience members will be invited to respond to the work showcased. Audio Visual eXchange Luton present a live art project showcasing collaborative creation and want can be achieved when mixing traditional art mediums with technology. Inspired by the demo and hack scene, collaborative paint jams and hackathons, AVXL live jam aims to translate the DIY ethos, open structure and improvisational, semi-rehearsed approach into the world of audiovisual art. Using recorded samples, audio and visual software, synthesizers and simple recording devices and working with prepared (raw) photos, videos and audio field recordings, the AVXL group will put together a short art project live - in front of the audience so they can witness the process of collaborative creation and view the outcome. A 15 minute performance followed by a Q and A session with the artists. Age Guidance: Suitable for all Please note: Visual presentation may incorporate flash photography and flickering lights. Audience members with sensitivity to such visual stimuli should take care.
