Talk: Getting around in the 1960s - Mike Hurst Historic/Heritage

talk_getting_around_in_the_1960s__mike_hurst

An entertaining illustrated talk about how we got about in the 1960s.

Covering cars (often second hand), motorbikes, scooters, buses, air travel, a railway system in apparently terminal decline, the first motorways, the rise of lorries and car ownership, inclusive tours abroad and the switch of ocean liners to cruising. A decade of amazing change and already history!

This talk is organised by Berkshire Family History Society, a registered charity (no. 283010). For more information about this event, and to purchase ticket, see www.berksfhs.org.uk, and follow the link for events, or drop into the Centre during opening hours. Pre-booking is recommended but you may also pay on the door, subject to availability.
