Throughout the whole of October Half Term, visitors to Haddon Hall will have the opportunity to delight in a week full of Halloween activity
Throughout the week there will be face painting, scary storytelling, crafts and special trails for children. Children will be encouraged to make things themselves, such as homemade broom sticks and witch hats, which can later be used for trick-or-treating, and plenty of other crafts to get involved in.
All activities are free, and children are encouraged to come in costume, gaining entry to the Hall for free if they do so.
To accompany the week-long special children’s activity, Haddon Hall will also be hosting evening tours on the nights of the 23rd, 24th and 25th October. Taking around an hour and fifteen minutes, unlike any other tour at Haddon Hall throughout the year, there will be a focus on the apotropaic marks to be found at the Hall, said to have powers to avert evil influences or bad luck, also known as Witches’ marks. Taken by a tour guide with extensive knowledge of the Hall, there will also be a focus on other spooky elements of Haddon’s rich 900-year history.
With an arrival time of 6pm, visitors can enjoy a Halloween cocktail and cake before the tour starts at 6.30pm. This tour will be for age 14+, and will cost £24 per person.
