New Comedy Night Launches in Derby.

Funhouse Comedy Club, which already runs successful nights at various venues all over the country, is excited to announce the launch of their brand new comedy night at Lola Lo, Derby.

Funhouse Comedy Clubs are renowned for having exceptionally friendly audiences and a brilliant atmosphere which have led to twice winning Best Midlands Comedy Club awards with leading comedy website Chortle. Previous acts to have played its clubs on their road to fame and fortune include Sarah Millican, Russell Kane, Jack Whitehall and Rhod Gilbert, who described the clubs as "among the best anywhere in the world."

Headlining the launch will be Luton's lapsed choirboy Junior Simpson. With his boundless enthusiasm and infectious energy he has travelled all over the world sharing his anecdotes, which he delivers in a daring and mischievous way. A familiar face for his numerous TV appearances both as an actor and comedian, he also made a guest appearance in the film, Love Actually.

Supporting is multi-award winning ‘Kiwi' Sully O'Sullivan. He won his first national award less than 12 months after his first attempt at stand-up and has been acknowledged as a highlight of the New Zealand International Comedy Festival by The NZ Herald and a highlight of the Glasgow International Comedy Festival by The Scotsman. Enthusiastically self-assured, his sharp ire and amusing playfulness draws the audience into his world, where they are happy to stay.

Also appearing will be James Cook. An award-winning commercial radio presenter and stand-up comedian his laid back attitude, dry sense of humour and sharp tongue are a rare mix that always captivates his audiences.

The positive, amiable and amusing Dave Bryon is compere for the night.
