The Comedy Club Club Chelmsford at The Lion Inn on Thursday 11th August. 4 Top Comedians as Seen on TV.
James Redmond:
Emmerdale (ITV) Hollyoaks (Ch4), Casualty (BBC1), Never Mind the Buzzcocks (BBC2), Celebrity Who Wants to be a Millionaire (ITV1), Soccor AM (Sky1).
James Redmond is a dry, slick and subtle stand up who delivers unexpected twists and turns during his set as he deconstructs his art. He has a track record as a model and actor and is best known for seminal roles in 'Hollyoaks' (C4) and 'Casualty' (BBC 1) as well as having presented CD UK alongside Cat Deeley and appeared as a guest on 'Never Mind the Buzzcocks' (BBC 2), Celebrity Who wants to be a Millionaire; (ITV 1) and 'Soccer AM' (Sky 1).
Alistair Barrie:
The World Stands Up (Paramount), Richard and Judy (Ch 4), Loose Ends (Radio 4), Spanking New on 7 with Robin Ince (BBC 7), No Signal (Sky 1).
Recent global events have inspired a wide range of subject matter for this highly topical comedian, who can nonetheless 'drop from the highbrow to the gutter in the draw of a breath' (Metro) when the need arises. Combining a wide range of material and an easy rapport with any audience continues to make Alistair 'a name to look out for' (BBC GLR) in the coming year. Alistair has recently appeared in Green Wing (Channel 4) and on Radio Ulster's popular panel show The Blame Game.
Special Guest
Junior Simpson:
Big Brother's Big Mouth (C4), Armstrong & Miller Show (C4), Casualty (BBC), The Comic Side of Seven Days (BBC), Love Actually (Film – DJ Role).
With his infectious energy and huge stage presence it is easy to see why Junior Simpson is a circuit favourite. Simpson has a boundless joy and exuberance that has audiences hooked with hilarity. A true observational comic Simpson finds his humour in the everyday and humdrum with anecdotes of his world travels as a comedian adding a personal originality to his set. Although mischievous and daring, Simpson is never crass or crude and can tailor his set to suit any audience making him a favourite for warm up, TV and corporate work.
