POWERSOLO make their very welcome return to London on Saturday 24 February 2024 with the brilliant Thee Dagger Debs!!

PowerSolo started in December of 1996 as the moniker for Kim 'Kix" Jeppesen's solo endeavors (Hank Robot)The first outing was at the reputed Aarhus venue Vestergade 58This was a one-man showKim is cited as saying, "PowerSolo was just me, busking and playing apartment gigs," at the start

In 1999, Kim's brother Bo "Atomic Child" Jeppesen joined the band on drumsIn 1999 and 2000, the band recorded and toured supporting their debut release "Lemon Half Moon"Contributions to this album include Nick Sorento providing the lyrics for 'I'm Not Seventeen Anymore' and liner notes from Kim's close friend Sebastien DoubinskyThe group tours with Bob Log III, and has a chance meeting with Andre Williams on this tourIn 2001, the album was released on Copenhagen based label ESP/KickCritical reception of this album was tepid, with a number of positive reviews from intrigued critics being buried by a slurry of negative statementsPowerSolo continues to play tracks from this record live to this day, with Kim calling the tone of the album, "Very Anarchist in its expression."

The aforementioned meeting with Andre Williams occurred when PowerSolo, still then a duo, opened for him at Voxhall in Aarhus, DenmarkAfter a few exchanges backstage, Andre's tour manager summoned the duo to meet with Andre in his dressing room, where Andre then expressed an interest in recording a version of PowerSolo's number entitled "SLB"Two songs were recorded at Delta Lab in Denmark, however never surfaced due to Williams having a stint of ill health shortly afterWilliams would try to contact the group during the recording of their next album to approach them about being his backing band for his next european tour, however contact was again lost due to Williams' health issues, and plans and endeavors with him fell throughKim Kix cites Andre as being a major influence on the group

The story of Dagger Debs starts in 2011Back then, Laura and Letty played together in an all-girl Beat/Garage band called The Neasden BeesTime marched onwards and in 2014 Thee Jezebels were bornFollowing a tour of Spain and gigs across the U.Kthey built up a fan base and released their debut single Black Book/Cried Over You followed by a four-track E.PMover and a Groover on State Records

After a line-up alteration, Thee Dagger Debs formed with a new drummer, and were promptly snapped up by Damaged Goods RecordsThe band's mutual love of all things pub-rock, glam, proto-punk and rhythm 'n' blues unifies their soundWith lyrics discussing misogyny, love, liars and cheats, along with the storming all-nighter tune 8 while 10, their live shows entertain from start to finish
