Summer Concert for Samaritans Live Music & Concerts

In aid of Samaritans, Londinium presents 'Sunshine after Rain', a delicious programme of choral music perfect for a July evening.

Beautiful partsongs by Elgar, Delius, Vaughan Williams, Ireland, and Sterndale Bennett rub shoulders with superb recent works by Nicholas Maw, Cecilia McDowall, Bernard Rose and James McMillan. Completing this delightful selection are Mendelssohn’s vivacious op.59 ‘Songs to be sung in the open air’ and Britten’s classic 'Five Flower Songs'.

Admission is free; there will be a collection for Central London Samaritans. Central London Samaritans is the only support service in London open round the clock, every day of the year. Each year they receive over 100,000 calls for help. People call them to be heard, to work through their problems and find positive outcomes that work for them. Volunteers also reach out and work with schools, colleges and universities, workplaces, health and welfare services, homeless people, prisons and other charities.

Londinium is one of London's finest amateur chamber choirs, with a reputation for enterprising programming and committed, vibrant performances. They have appeared at the Classical BRIT Awards at the Royal Albert Hall, the National History Museum, the British Library, and will shortly give their first overseas performances in Alsace.
