LOTS OF LAUGHTER IN SOUTHWELL
On Wednesday, topping the bill is the hilarious Troy Hawke, Milo McCabe's latest creation, a man stuck in the wrong era! A genuine tribute to the glorious thirties, this naive ‘chap’ has only recently been exposed to today's uncivilised apocalypse.
Opening the night will be Scottish Comedian of the Year 2015, the edgy and frank Daisy Earl, who has been tour support for Tom Stade. With her mix of appealing vulnerability but awakening steeliness, she delivers her memorable and perceptive stories.
Completing the line-up is ‘Brummie’ Andy White. With his mad afro and daft voices he delivers a mix of topical and observational humour. His energetic persona can change from cheeky and upbeat to deadpan, without a flinch.
On Thursday, topping the bill is Alfie Moore who has appeared on ITV’s ‘Show Me The Funny’ and ‘The Wright Stuff’. Following the success of the first series on BBC Radio 4 of ‘It’s a Fair Cop’ in 2014, it is now in its sixth series. A police sergeant, he brings a wealth of insights and comedy moments from his eighteen years on the beat, where a keen sense of humour has been the key to his success and survival! His engaging style enables him to get serious points across whilst still making the audience laugh until they ache.
Opening the night will be winner of ITV’s ‘Show Me The Funny’ the instantly loveable and unique Patrick Monahan, with his trademark hyperactive and freewheeling charm. Following the release of his debut DVD he was a guest on Loose Women and also appeared alongside Philip Schofield and Jason Manford on ITV's Comedy Annual. More recently he appeared on ITV’s Splash. Of Irish-Iranian decent, but brought up on Teeside he shares tales of his memories. He exudes warmth and charisma; his friendly style mixed with his hilarious story telling leaves his audiences wanting for more.
Completing the line-up is Kevin Dewsbury, talented comedian and actor, who appeared in the film, ‘Destination Dewsbury’. His material is a variety of storytelling, observation and one- liners. He has the ability to mimic most accents, which adds profundity to his material. Although from Cheshire, he is often mistaken as being from Yorkshire due to his ridiculous northern accent. Kevin has toured the UK and has also been the support act for Michael McIntyre, Omid Djalili and Russell Howard.
Compere for both nights will be the energetic and friendly Spiky Mike.
