Want to know what it takes to become a double Paralympic gold medallist against all odds?
Having been ranked No.1 in the world throughout her entire international career, Danielle beat even the best able-bodied athletes to win Commonwealth gold in 2010, where she was the first ever Paralympian to represent England in an able-bodied discipline and has been crowned World Champion three times. Not only an outstanding athlete, Danielle has proven her prowess in the field of law after she attained a first-class degree from the University of Leicester while simultaneously competing at the 2008 Paralympics, demonstrating how self-belief and determination can help you get ahead and break through seemingly impossible boundaries.
The motivating talk will focus on harnessing the power of diligence and perseverance to achieve any goal and the importance of bouncing back from failure. Danielle teaches audience members how to transfer her extraordinary insight to their everyday lives with advice gained from her remarkable career and helps guests understand the winning mindset needed to climb to the top.
About Danielle
Born in Yorkshire, Danielle was diagnosed with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) as a teenager, a chronic and debilitating condition. Determined to overcome it, Danielle took up archery, a sport that could be adapted to her needs, and rapidly became a Paralympic star. She achieved gold in two consecutive Paralympic Games and holds five World Championship titles, as well as being the first disabled athlete to represent England in an able-bodied team at the Commonwealth games in Delhi.
After receiving the drastic blow that she no longer qualified to compete in Paralympic events due to a rule change, Danielle turned her focus to helping others achieve their goals through motivational speaking and sport psychology sessions, garnering as much success as she gained in her sport.
Danielle has received many honorary awards for both her achievements in sport and her commitment to helping others, including the Women of the Future Award, the Freedom of the City of London and an honorary fellowship from the University of Wolverhampton for her services to sport.
All ticket proceeds from the events will be donated to the Prince’s Trust, an organisation that is dedicated to helping transform and inspire thousands of young lives every year.
