Itching to do comedy? Come and scratch that itch at Funny Women's Time of the Month, our regular comedy workshop, networking and scratch event.
It's a night of two parts... come to both or just perform at Showtime.
PLAYTIME: 6 – 7.30pm, £10
Meet like-minded women with a passion for comedy, learn how to generate material through improvised comedy, share scripts, sets jokes and ideas from comedians currently performing on the circuit, and receive one-to-one comedy advice from the Funny Women team.
Our guest facilitator speaker this month is Claire Bradshaw who has been promoting and nurturing cult fan bases in comedy via social media since 2008. After moving from England to Canada, Claire was introduced to the TV comedy Trailer Park Boys, and worked on the show's lively fan forum. She also contributed to the show itself through acting and voiceover roles. Claire then worked with the digital team for surreal TV comedy The Drunk and on Drugs Happy Funtime Hour, which won a Canadian Screen Award for its outrageous online experience. She is currently Director of Social Media for Trailer Park Boys and its comedy network, SwearNet.com Claire will discuss the power of social to promote your comedic talents.
SHOWTIME: 8pm, FREE!
Funny Women knows that comedy can be scary, so this night provides a platform for women to get on stage and perform comedy for the first time. Even if you're already a regular on the circuit, Time of the Month is a great night to try out new material in front of a warm and supportive audience.
