Deal Castle

Deal Castle, Dover, Kent, CT161HU

Deal Castle: Deal Castle has stood since the 16th century when it was built by Henry VIII to defend our shores from the threat of invasion. Its huge low-lying bastions were cleverly built in the shape of a Tudor Rose not to look pretty, but so that the curves made it difficult for enemy fire to hit home. The castle once housed 66 guns and replicas of some of them provide a focal and talking point at parties today.

Not only is Deal Castle steeped in military history, but it occupies a superb seafront location, with uninterrupted views of the surrounding coastline.

For drinks receptions, the Bastion Terrace, gives guests some stunning maritime scenery to admire whilst sipping something scrumptious.

The ground floor can be hired for smaller functions and for larger events. Clients can pretend they are 'king of the castle' by literally hiring it lock, stock and barrel!

Maritime-themed events may also be staged, with costumed characters available to add to the nautical atmosphere.
