The Yellow Duckmarine: You've never toured Liverpool on anything like the The Yellow Duckmarine. Nothing comes close! It's a trip you'll never forget! Take the ride of your life with The Yellow Duckmarine!

The historic City of Liverpool, with its Waterfront built around the most famous docklands in the world, is steeped in maritime tradition.

You have to see it all, and the only way is to ride TheYellowDuckmarine! The fun begins the second you board your DUCK - an authentic World War II landing vehicle - at the Albert Dock, where else?

Your hour-long trip begins on the road, taking in the historic Waterfront, touring the famous sights of the City, then making a dramatic 'SPLASHDOWN' in the Salthouse Dock. It's the start of an amazing dockland adventure, ending at the Albert Dock. It's a trip you'll never forget!

Our DUKWS were built in the USA by General Motors and started life in the mid 1940's as military ship to shore transports. Many were used in the D-Day landings and in other wartime theatres. They remained in service with the British and other armies into the 1970's.

The YellowDuckmarine purchased, completely rebuilt and converted the 2 best original DUKW's available in the UK. They now comply with UK Passenger Carrying Vehicle, (PCV) and Class 5 Passenger Vessel standards.

The DUKW was designed by Roderic Stephens of New York based naval architects Sparkman and Stephens Inc. , to meet a World War II need to move men and materiel ashore where no port facilities existed. It is based around the ubiquitous General Motors Corporation CCKW 2. 5ton 6x6 army truck - a vehicle that was already in production and for which spares were readily available from army stores. Brilliantly conceived, and built with great efficiency, DUKW production totalled over 21,000 between 1942 and 1945.

Open Mid-February to Christmas. Tours depart approximately every hour, 7 days a week from 11. 00am till dusk.

Tickets are sold from our shop in The Anchor Courtyard (between The Atlantic and Britannia Pavilions) and in The Beatles Story from 10. 30am to dusk. Tickets may be purchased on the day of the tour only but you may also reserve seats on the day by telephone (0151 708 7799) to ensure the tour of your choice.
