Join us for a totally free, Family Friendly, Open Day where, among other activities, you’ll be able to view the church silver, parish burial registers and a graveyard plan. Teas/coffees will be served from 11am to lunch-time and then again until 3pm.
At lunchtime we’ll be serving soup and a roll.
We’re also planning a “Teddy Bears’ Parachute Zip Wire” from the Church Tower and, if the weather’s good, there’ll be a chance for the bravest amongst you to take a trip up the tower!
At 2pm Caerwent Resident and Curatorial Officer at the National Roman Legion Museum, Caerleon, Dr. Mark Lewis, will give a talk on the church and its history and there’ll be a chance to see how the beautiful pipe organ, built in 1928 and restored in 2008, actually works.
This is not a stuffy, closed shop event but a chance for everyone to see how welcoming (and fun) the church can be! And, don’t forget, it’s totally free.
