A research conference that examines the drivers of change in energy.
The conference is aimed at energy analysts, researchers, strategy and policy thinkers from all backgrounds, including industry, academia, research organisations, government, the finance community, NGOs and consultancies. The conference is avowedly international in outlook and attendance. It is the mix of people and perspectives that makes this conference distinctive. The 2016 conference will focus on the themes of disruption and innovation which are characteristics of current energy industries and markets, nationally and globally. Every part of the energy sector is experiencing rapid change and high rates of innovation, with some examples of managed transitions, but often with disruptive transformation driven by external factors. BIEE’s 11th Oxford Conference will explore how energy economics and policy analysis can help chart a course through the uncertainties, facilitating technology development, investment and securing consumer trust, towards low carbon, secure and affordable sustainable energy systems in the long-term.
BIEE conferences are internationally renowned for the quality of speakers they attract, for their open, productive discussion and debate and for the diverse range of participants from public and private sectors and academia. Delegates will experience a full programme with high profile guest speakers, 3 plenary and 10 parallel sessions, featuring the latest research, industry analysis and policy thinking.
