A 3 night break in Dunster to explore 3 Railways of Exmoor, including a trip on the famous Flying Scotsman on the West Somerset Railway
In conjunction with this visit, here at the Yarn Market Hotel we will be welcoming guests for two “Railways of Exmoor” breaks. The programme will include three nights stay at our 3 Star hotel, here on the main street of the medieval village of Dunster. Together with bed, breakfast and evening dinner there will be a 20 mile journey behind “Scotsman” from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard along the Bristol Channel Coast and through the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that is the Quantock Hills. Your return journey to Minehead will be headed by another locomotive from the great days of steam. However, the railway and scenic delight does not end there. There will be another full day out including travel through the Exmoor National Park to the twin villages of Lynton and Lynmouth which are linked by a water powered Victorian cliff railway, and a journey on the revived section of the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway. This narrow gauge line closed as long ago as 1935 and is now being brought back to life.This is a unique holiday opportunity for yourself or for a present for people who love railways and steam trains. Dates are September 4th to 6th and September 7th to 9th.
