Identify what skills you have and need to hone for NED positions and how to distinguish yourself from the competition with these practical tips for an experienced NED.
Choosing to become a Non-Executive director could be due to a lifestyle change or a desire to utilise skills and knowledge gained in an executive environment. This could be fuelled by a desire to do something worthy in the 3rd sector or to support enterprising organisations. It could be something completely personal, containing a desire to invest in a business but not take on an executive role.
Whatever the rational, knowing how to access such roles and how to make yourself the most desirable person in a market place where multiple candidates can be attempting to secure a prime role is essential. In addition once such a position is identified knowing that you are not only the right person for the role but also have contracted properly in an increasing litigious environment for directors is very important.
On completion of this 90 minute session you will be able to:
- Identify what skills you have and need to hone for NED positions and how to distinguish yourself from others.
- Write a compelling CV and have a well prepared list of questions before they proceed.
- Asses with greater knowledge the risks and responsibilities and as such be better placed to ensure you contract correctly.
