Joining us this month are:
Markus Birdman
A hidden gem of the UK comedy scene, Markus has played to great acclaim across the world, headlining not only in the UK, but Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand and even Estonia. A master storyteller, able to slip between sharp topical observations and downright silly physical comedy so seamlessly you hardly notice it’s happened. After completing several national tours with his autobiographical shows, Markus is back with a brand new set of stories he wants to tell.
“Probably the most absorbing show I’ve seen. Completely spell-binding.” Chortle
George Rigden
Having been compared to a cross between Mitch Benn and Tim Key, George is a comic frighteningly talented for one so young. A finalist is several of the biggest New Act competitions in 2015, George has rapidly found his comedic voice and carved a deliciously unique niche for himself. One of the hottest young acts around, as denoted by his much-coveted place in the AAA Late Showcase in Edinburgh, we are delighted to bring George to the Frazer. Keep an eye on him-he’s going places, quick.
‘George Rigden had the audience in his hands thanks to some great comedic timing, a little help from his guitar and a hint of David Mitchell in Peep Show’ – Leicester Mercury
Nathan Willcock
Nathan has been on the comedy circuit since 2010, at one point running four separate comedy nights in his university town, so he’s no stranger to knowing what the audience wants! A talented and versatile write, Nathan has a seemingly never-ending list of different interests and influences to draw upon, meaning you can never be sure where his constantly buzzing mind i going to go next.
“His set is deftly constructed, in which disparate elements from his political references to his lack of success with women, via his unlikely catchphrase, tie together smartly” Chortle
Rob Mulholland
Knaresborough’s own Rob returns after a storming set in May to take control of proceedings as MC. After winning major praise for his performances in Edinburgh this summer, his star is certainly in the ascendancy and we are delighted to welcome him back. Naturally gifted, and with writing tighter than his frankly too tight jeans, Rob is sure to rip the roof off again!
“Great delivery and a confident swagger…A riot” Lancashire Evening Telegraph
