Auckland Castle Castles
Once principal country residence of the Prince Bishops and now the official residence of the Bishop of Durham. The staterooms and chapel, one of the largest private chapels in Europe are open to the public. Adjacent Bishops Deer Park with 18th Century Deer House.

Easter Monday - 30 Sept, Sunday and Monday 2pm - 5pm (last admission 4.30pm).
Also open Wednesday in August 2pm - 5pm.
Group and school visits by arrangement all year.
Bishops Deer Park
Open daily all year, 7am - sunset.
