Welcome to this warm-hearted museum displaying the everyday life of Cambridge people since 1700. The Cambridge & County Folk Museum has been open to the public for over 60 years, providing a fascinating insight into the history of Cambridge for local people and tourists alike.
The Museum is housed in the former White Horse Inn, a timber-framed building, the earliest parts of which date back to the late 16th century. It is located in the most ancient part of Cambridge, just a few minutes walk from the centre of the City.
Over the years the museum has acquired a collection of almost 30,000 objects, pictures and documents. The museum still adheres to its early aim and continues to maintain a broad level of support within the local community.
The museum shop sells small souvenirs of the museum, a range of postcards, books and local publications. The shop specialises in selling reproduction Victorian toys such as spinning tops, slates and toy theatres. .
