The Millennium gallery is a significant addition to Tullie House. It celebrates Carlisle's unique heritage and is the keystone of the City's Millennium gateway project including a granite walkway carved with the Border Reiver's names and linking Tullie House with Carlisle Castle. The gallery celebrates our unique collections. It includes a fantastic display of minerals set on specially commissioned cast glass. See rare archaeological finds, paintings by local artists and period costumes. The Carlisle wall highlights the city's built heritage and the glass whispering wall tells stories by local people. Old Tullie House is a 17th century town house of character, with a fine classical faade, overlooking the Tullie House herb garden. Inside it's strong architectural features include a jacobean staircase and tiled walls by Craven Dunhill. The pannelled room showcases key paintings from the Pre-raphaelite period, including works by Rossetti and Burne-Jones. .
