Frankie Boyle sparks Twitter row over sick jokes about Paralympics. Channel 4 confirms it is unlikely that they will work with the 'comedian' in the future.
Frankie Boyle has upset the Paralympic broadcasters Channel 4 with sick 'jokes' posted on Twitter this week. Channel 4 say that it is unlikely that they will work with Boyle again.
The controversial stand-up used the social media site to post a string of sick comments about the Paralympic athletes.
Sparking another row on Twitter Frankie Boyle upset the television channel and twitter users with jibes such as: 'Apparently the Saudi Arabian Paralympic team is mainly thieves', referring to thieves in Saudi Arabia having hands amputated for stealing.
During Wednesday's opening ceremony, the sick comic referred to an athlete wounded by a bomb, saying: 'Sadly our Paralympian in the high jump isn't expected to match his personal best. But I hear it doesn't count as it was 'Taliban assisted'.
Another disturbing post read: 'I'm going to the blind football to shout the referee's a deaf b*****d.'
The comic then turned his attention to The Queen saying: 'The Queen has not smiled since Diana died'.
Channel 4 have received many complaints in the past about Boyle's sick sense of humour, including model Katie Price who called for the channel to sack Boyle after he mocked her disabled son Harvey.
Channel 4 have said that the sick jibes were made in a personal capacity, therefore they are not responsible, but bosses have confirmed that Boyle has made it difficult for himself to return to the television channel in the future.
An insider for Channel 4 told The Mirror: 'We will wash our hands of Frankie now.'
Sun Columnist Frankie Boyle's only chance of staying with Channel 4 was with TV chief Shane Allen, but he is now leaving to join the BBC.
Meanwhile, former Tory health minister Edwina Currie sparked another Twitter row when she posted a remark on the social media site saying that the Italian Paralympic team were looking 'gorgeous even in wheelchairs'.
Ms Currie tried to defend her comments to her disgusted Twitter fans by posting: 'Nonsense, that's not what I meant - they look good, natty suits, smooth gezzers.'
One Twitter user responded to the remark as: 'singularly the most offensive thing I have seen on Twitter.' They obviously don't follow Frankie Boyle!
