The Manchester International Festival is in its third year and brings together original works and new commissions from world renowned musicians and actors. This year an unofficial programme of events or 'Not Part Of' (NPO) runs completely separately yet alongside the international showcase and promises to be both entertaining and interesting!

The Manchester NPO fringe event organiser Mr. Gareth McCann says that his aim is to show the full picture of the arts Manchester has to offer. 'Not Part Of provides training, opportunities and a platform for artists at a grassroots level to reach out to audiences,' he says. Mr McCann describes his festival as 'open, inclusive and original'.

The NPO 2011 events will be held across 48 venues in the city and includes 150 events ' more in total than the Manchester International Festival itself. The NPO festival will be held between Thursday June 30th and Saturday July 16th.
