As avid theatre-goers, there's a wide variety of choice of performing arts and theatre available in Britain. Although it was once deemed necessary to dress formally to attend the theatre, it's no longer expected, although most people do dress smart. From Shakespeare to Oscar Wilde, pantomimes to musicals, dance to amateur dramatics, most towns have a good range of productions each year, and a night out at the theatre can be an extremely enjoyable pastime.
