London based Goldfrapp have been a successful electro-pop duo since 1999. Alison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory released their debut album in 2000 which was nominated for a Mercury prize. The band have released 5 albums to date and have achieved critical acclaim for some. Albums 2 and 3 reflected the dance-orientated club sound that wowed America and earned them a nomination for best Dance Album at the Grammys. Their later album reflected a more ambient sound, a focus on nature and some pagan elements also. Their most recent release 'Headfirst' 2009/10 has seen them return to a more retro syth-pop sound harking back to the 1980s.
