Astonishingly, Reading Festival has been rocking the UK since 1961.

It's a three day festival held simultaneously with the Leeds festival during the August bank holiday weekend. Both festivals share a bill on a rotating schedule, so seeing one is almost like being at both. They gather styles of music the world over and set them down in one place, even if they normally wouldn't be heard together. Popularity follows it like a homing missile. Even the Conservative attempt to ban it in the mid 80's failed; the year it came back showed a record attendance.As the oldest popular music festival still around, the Reading Festival has seen a lot and grown even more.
