Meet Tom Paxton.Tom's a contemporary of greats like Bob Dylan and Phil Ochs rising from the same 60's protest folk milieu. Known for great hits like "Ramblin' Boy," "What Did You Learn in School Today?" (both picked up by Pete Seeger) and "Jimmy Newman" among dozens, Tom Paxton has always stayed true to his folk roots and his die hard fans love him for it. No detours into Rock here.What's most refreshing about Tom, beyond the quality of his music, has been his ability to not live in the past. Lyrically he's not shied his focus from important contemporary issues in the least. From war crimes in Bosnia, to the threat of right wing extremism and even people like the Lorena and John Bobbitt have caught Tom's eye and made it into his songs. That's a good thing.The best of all despite being in his mid 70's, Tom is getting ready for what may be his final European tour. Prepare to sing along in protest!
