The Chiltern Camerata - 20th Anniversary Concert - A Stringfest! Music for all ages
The Chiltern Camerata orchestra had its origins in music education and for our 20th anniversary celebratory concert we are teaming up with the Chiltern Music Academy to present a family-friendly Sunday afternoon concert - a Stringfest! Our concert, which is the orchestra's contribution to the Wycombe Arts Festival, will include works by Vaughan Williams, Purcell, Percy Grainger, Tony Osborne, Thomas Tallis - amongst others.
CMA players will join the Camerata for some of the works and will feature in their own right in others. We know from past experience how enlivening it is for the young players and the audience alike to share music-making in this way.
There will be an interval when refreshments will be available. The concert will finish at around 6 p.m.

The Chiltern Camerata needs no introduction: Founded by Judy Hunter in 1996, this chamber orchestra of music professionals and advanced amateurs, now under its Director of Music Sam Laughton, presents innovative and attractive concerts in and around the Chilterns and Thames Valley.
The Chiltern Music Academy has gained an enviable reputation for the excellence of its work with young musicians. CMA recently the scooped 'Winner, Best Musical Initiative' in the recent 'Music Teacher' Awards for Excellence. The Camerata is excited to be working with these talented youngsters.
The King's Church in Raans Road, Amersham is a very newly-created church and a perfect place for the performance of music. It is large, light, very well equipped and comfortable and has plenty of car parking space. It has a fine acoustic which may explain why the violinist Nicola Benedetti likes to perform there!
