On Saturday 27 August, Vale Park will once again be filled with great live music, all day on the huge outdoor stage.
You can bring a picnic or take your pick from a range of local catering stalls, bars, hot fresh coffee and refreshments (details below). Please note that for safety reasons glass is not permitted at this event.
Where possible we recommend walking to the park or using one of the many town centre car parks, (accessible routes will be sign posted from the car parks to the event).
THE BANDS
The very popular Skasouls UK will headline the event, after 8 hours of amazing live local music. For those that haven’t experienced a live performance from these exciting talented musicians, Skasouls UK have established a reputation playing covers of the Ska bands of the 80s including Madness, The Selecter, Bad Manners and The Specials, together with some older Jamaican ska. More recently, the band has embarked upon a program of releasing their own original ska which has been incredibly well received on iTunes (and other major download sites). The success of the band can be measured by recent appearances with major artists such as Razorlight, The Feeling, The Hoosiers, Scouting For Girls, The Happy Mondays and Toploader, they are now frequently being asked to headline festivals in an ever growing area of the South.
Essential Motion will open the show at 12noon, they perform a mix of all-time classic floor-fillers, top Chart material, deep grooves and some overlooked classics, for all ages to enjoy.
Other local bands playing include Aylesbury favourites Zealey & Moore, Lost Minute, The Waterside Trio, The Dung Beatles and Bustin’ Loose. This will be the 25th anniversary year of Bustin’ Loose; Rob Oakley, lead vocalist says “Having performed over 1,100 gigs and approx. 35,500 songs, playing Live in the Park in our 25th year, to an audience of thousands, on such an impressive outdoor stage will be an amazing highlight, we can’t wait to rock your socks off”.
Acoustic and original music will come from Paul Jackson, Evette Judge, The Ukes of Hazzard, James & Jack Manders, Lucy Mair and the impressive Rock Choir.
Full timings of the line-up will be announced closer to the event. Performers are subject to change without prior notice.
