The ENTERTAINMENT factor is paramount to the successes of the productions as is the artistic and creative flair of the show’s producer and director, Colin Matthews.
2016 will mark Colin’s 30th year at the Babbacombe Theatre, and he remains as enthused now as he did when he first opened in 1986 to keep variety alive, albeit nowadays it is as much about receiving regular ‘online’ reviews, ‘check ins’, ‘hits’ and ‘tweets’ reaching out across cyberspace as it is about the show itself.
In this digital age, ‘Starstuck’, has a cast that promises side - splitting comedy, powerful vocalists delivering dynamic songs and elegant dancers who are endlessly energetic performing to entertain you, up close and personally.
Andy Oakley as the headlining act is bound to have you sit up in your seat and take notice! His hilarious tales and comedic antics will take you to places far beyond the Babbacombe boards and you won’t even have to use your Google Maps app to get there.
Always on trend, Ben Nickless is bound to leave a marked impression with this seasons show goers. Utilising some of the most downloaded pop sensations biggest and most recognisable hits, Ben will perform many songs in as many voices in his uniquely humorous style.
A profile that will be instantly recognisable to regular visitors will be the diminutive cheeky and highly acclaimed comedian, Dean Winters. He enjoys partaking in mischief, which includes some very funny original material that never fails to connect with the crowds.
Many a celebrity has enjoyed a walk along a red carpet as they attend a glittering premiere or awards ceremony, one such young lady to have been ‘papped’ at such an occasion is Keedie, she is as adept at interpreting a pop song as she is the most opulent of arias. Listening to her sing the ordinary becomes extraordinary and even more so when she is joined on stage by Paul Cobley, a favourite with the venues audiences. Having performed at The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane and at The London Palladium, Paul is no stranger to the West End or to the Babbacombe Theatre, having appeared in numerous previous productions.
With over a billion hits on YouTube, it’s essential the vocalist performing one of the most recognisable hits in recent times has the star quality and ability to sing high-end pop. Eloise Cole impressed Simon Cowell and in this show, Eloise will no doubt engage with you too!
Optimising every show tune, Motown hit and classical song will be Danze Chique. They have an adept ability to interpret the content set by choreographer Georgia Lee with flair whilst engaging with the musical arrangements of Pete Leonard. As do Kidz & Co., who invite you to, ‘Be Our Guest’ this season?
